We wanted a day outside the city without spending hours traveling to another region, and Namhansanseong worked perfectly. The fortress is surrounded by mountains, so the experience feels more like a nature escape than a normal sightseeing tour. Expect walking and some uneven paths. I would recommend this to travelers who enjoy light hiking and history. It is also a good choice if you want a quieter day away from Seoul’s shopping districts.
The Fortress was one of historical place, and good road to around Namhansan. The road was very good place to walk with good view and air. The inside of fortress was developed with many facilities and famous restaurant. It was very good walk around this fortress.
We had an unforgettable day exploring Korea with NoljaKorea. The itinerary was perfectly planned, and we were able to see so much without worrying about transportation. Our friendly driver also made the trip more enjoyable with his helpful and welcoming attitude. We had such a wonderful time!

We loved the experience at Namhansanseong! The fortress and surrounding mountain scenery created a perfect combination of history and nature. Walking through the area was peaceful, and the views were beautiful, especially for photography. This tour is a great option for travelers who want to escape the busy streets of Seoul and experience something more active and historical.
서울에서 멀리 가지 않고도 역사와 자연을 함께 경험할 수 있어서 좋았습니다. 남한산성은 오래된 성곽과 산길이 함께 있어 일반적인 관광지와는 다른 분위기를 느낄 수 있었습니다. 천천히 걸으면서 주변 경치를 감상하기에도 좋고, 한국의 역사에 대해서도 알아볼 수 있었습니다. 너무 복잡한 서울 관광에서 잠시 벗어나고 싶은 분들에게 추천하고 싶습니다. 편한 신발을 신고 가는 것을 추천합니다.
We enjoyed the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress and thought the Namhansanseong Fortress will be an interesting visit. Compared to the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, the Namhansanseong Fortress palace grounds are much smaller. But the surrounding fortress walls offer great hikes with scenic views over Seoul. Autumn foliage is also quite pretty. Don’t miss out on trying the Namhansanseong’s food speciality which is whole chicken stew – dakbaeksuk. All the restaurants around the area serve this and one chicken stew is sufficient for 4 adults.
Walking along the ancient fortress walls with breathtaking mountain views was truly refreshing. The scenery is beautiful, the air is fresh, and every step feels like a journey through Korea’s history. A must-visit for nature lovers and anyone who enjoys a peaceful hike. 🌿🏯
Our tour driver suggested this as an alternative to the more well known Suwon Fortress. Very glad we listened to his advice. The history, views, and scenery are all incredible. It’s a more intensive hike than at Suwon Fortress but well worth the effort. There are several restaurants near the trail head and parking lot if you want to stop for lunch.
